Cleaned out of everything, worth anything. Luckily I was in college at the time, so it was mostly just "stuff". Why should you care? Well, if you've ever been robbed you know how much it sucks. If you haven't, here's a good reason to live in a decent neighborhood, and lock your doors.

At first your shocked, then mad...then drunk. (that's how it happened for me anyway) 7 Years later, all I really miss...are my CD's. I could care less about the really bad Randy River Christmas Sweater my Dad bought me, or the Cordell Steward jersey, he was my favorite player, but I don't even know if he's in the NFL anymore. I can't even remember half the other crap...which goes to show how much it really meant. What did mean something though...were my memories.

If you care about music, your CD's become the soundtrack of your life. You can probably remember where, and when you bought each and every one in your collection. Each CD becomes a bookmark in your life, then when some low-life rips them off so he can buy crack...It's like somebody crawled into your head, and hijacked your memories.

The other day I was able to locate one of those precious memories. An excellent record: The Watchmen - In The Trees. I paid $3.95 for a used copy . The memories came rushing back when the first few notes of "34 Dead St." rang between my ears. I could instantly see my friend Paul's old Spectra car, parked in his parents driveway. The prairie sun is shining, and there's a light breeze. I can see the half-full bottles of pop rolling around behind the seats as Paul and I drive to a baseball game. It was like finding $20 you didn't know you had in your pants on laundry day...Only times a billion, because money can't buy memories.
